Description:

This scenery is of the International airport in Mexico City, the world's largest city. It includes the entire airport plus the airport hotels, and the small hill just outside the airport that has a radar tower on top of it. It also contains an acurately depicted control tower, and the doppler radar tower on the far side of the airport. The unusual heavy steel fence in a criss cross pattern which surrounds part of the airport is also included. One of the main Autopistas that runs along the perimeter of the airport is also included with traffic running in both directions for more dramatic landings. This airport is homebase to AeroMexico, Mexicana, and Aeromar. All afcads are welcome!

Installation:

1. Extract the zip into your main FS2004 Addon Scenery folder, or into a temporary folder, and then move it there, which ever method you prefer.

2. Start up FS2004 and when the welcome screen, or initial menu comes on, select settings, then click on Scenery Library, and Add Area. Find the Addon Scenery folder and open it, then find the MexicoV2 folder and click on it. The name MexicoV2 should now appear in the title window, then click OK. Then you will see MexicoV2 at the top of your scenery library list, and click the OK tab at the bottom.

3. That's it! You must first exit FS2004, and when you restart it your scenery will be there. It is not necessary to use the Addon Scenery option to locate this scenery, simply go to the airport in FS.

Notes:

Due to the extremely large size of the hangar area of this airport, I have selectively left default buildings remain in the scenery to help fill the area, and not substantially decrease frame rates by using my own buildings. This has also resulted in Autogen buildings showing up closer to the scenery area for a more congested city look. I have also included six static aircraft, 3 AeroMexico, and 3 Mexicana in their service areas. These can be eliminated by running the scenery density at dense, but due to the large area, and extensive parking spaces at this airport, traffic can be maximized without eliminating them. I have not included an afcad with this scenery since I wanted to get it out to the FS world as soon as possible. Anyone who wants to do an afcad and publish it, is welcome. Please send me a copy so I can check it out. This is my only scenery which does not include palm trees. Mexico City does have the most cold tolerant palms, but they are not located at the airport. Please keep in mind that this airport sits at over 7,000 feet so take offs and climb rates will be reduced, and don't get fooled like I did thinking I had plenty of altitude to start manuvering my aircraft. This airport is very obsolete for the traffic it bears, and I have recently read that President Fox of Mexico has approved a new site for an all new airport. It is located close to this airport near the lake which you will see shortly after take off.
